El último Tsar ruso, Nicholaj Romanov - fue martinista y dirigente de una Logia en su Palacio de Verano.
En esta época, muchos nobles rusos tuvieron iniciación martinista, masónica y rosacruciana.
Su corte palaciega era frecuentada por muchos y controvertidos místicos, ocultistas y monjes carismáticos.
Uno de ellos, Rasputin, conocido Chaman y ocultista siberiano.
Después de su asesinato, junto con su familia, Nicholaj fue canonizado por la rama mas tradicionalista de la Iglesia Rusa.
Su culto, muy extendido hoy, abriga ortodoxos y esoteristas.
